“This rhetorical analysis applies ideological criticism to the 2019 film, Parasite, in order to reveal how class disparities, hegemony, and the fallacy of the capitalist dream create systemic inequality that encourages opportunism over morality. First, I offer a review of my rhetorical approach, detailing the specifics of an ideological critique. Next, I will move into an analysis of Parasite where I will examine the visual aspects and thematic ideographs as a means of uncovering the underlying messages of the artifact. Finally, I will end with a discussion about the implications Parasite suggests social class, hegemony, and capitalism have on our society’s functioning.”

“This paper will analyze the ways the European Union has attempted to combat terrorism in Sub-Saharan Africa and the Sahel. Terrorists threaten the national security of Europe, and putting a stop to attacks and recruitment has been a for many international states… This paper will find how successful the Union has been at making peace and establishing itself as a powerful player on the continent. Case studies such as Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Nigeria will contextualize the issue. Cooperation with various international organizations, including the United Nations and the African Union, guided Europe’s pursuits. However, the results are very mixed, and many argue not enough was done to eradicate terrorists from Africa.“

“What You Wear”
Confidence and style go hand and hand with each other but why? What makes someone brave enough to challenge the norm and express themselves they want to? As we grow up our personal style tends to change drastically but oftentimes people are too afraid to wear clothes on the outside that reflect what’s on the inside.
When I was growing up I had a lot of insecurities about who I was. I knew I was different from the majority of my peers and I was scared that if I expressed myself I would be made fun of so I felt like I had to put myself into a box that I used to protect myself. As I grew up and started to surround myself with people who were so confident in themselves, they were able to express themselves with no worry of judgement from others. Being around people who didn’t judge me for who I was made me able to change my mindset and I too gained the confidence to style myself the way I want rather than what I was told too.
With these portraits I wanted to show off individuals with very unique senses of style. When coming up with this project I tried to find people who I see around campus that consistently have a great sense of style and who are comfortable and confident in themselves. When asking each person to do this project I prompted them with one thing: wear the outfit you feel the most confident in, whatever that may be. This looked very different for each person, it really shows you that everyone has a very unique way of expressing their own sense of style. From goth to granola and everything in between, if you enjoy what you wear your life is so much better

“Chronicles of Intimacy”
This project is about feeling. The warm, cozy feeling you get while driving through the trees, singing along to music, and watching the cars pass me speedily. It is about the feeling of time pausing. The feeling that no matter what happened before getting in the car, and no matter what will happen when you reach your destination, you’ll always have the car ride. That in-between period where there is calm, or peace, or laughter, or juicy debriefs. You are protected by those four doors and the roof, and you can appreciate the beauty of your surroundings, the company of your passengers, or the anticipation of your final destination in the comfortable and familiar space of your car.
